Week 12 Key NFL Trends

AT FIRST GLANCE there are games that always look Tasty ATS in many publications as a Bullet trend only to trap upon further review. Since 2006, The Director has cleared the way for you to understand which team has the real ADVANTAGE against the Trend.

Having gone 0-6 ATS, there was no question on the past that you could feast on the DETROIT LIONS on Thanksgiving day; handicappers even picking the Lions in preseason predictions. That said, nobody could have imagined that the New England Patriots would arrive allowing nearly 400 yards per game. A Patriots team suffering their only two defeats on the Road this year. The Lions, 7-2-1 ATS in 2010, proving to be very tough by powering nearly 350 yards of offense, and averaging as many points this year as their competition in 2010.

On the other hand, the New Orleans Saints, 6-2 ATS as Road Favorite of 3.5 to 7 points over the last three seasons, who saw their 13 game winning streak stopped in 2009 by the Dallas Cowboys, 6-0 ATS versus the NFC South over the last three seasons, are streaking right now with a defense that is allowing only 15.2 points per game on 4.6 yards per play on the Road this year; With this being one of the few games where both teams have negative turnover ratios, look for this Saints to press the action with an offense that is powering this one will come down to the big turnover.

There is very little to sink our teeth into on this fair Sunday. The BUFFALO BILLS, outscored by 6+ points per game welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers allowing only 53.8 rushing yards per game on the Road in 2010. With the Bills allowing 163.5 rushing yards per game, it is hard to avoid the Public.

The ATLANTA FALCONS, who defense is allowing 244.1 passing yards game have the comfort of their 2008 victory SU and ATS versus the Green Bay Packers; the Packers arriving outscoring their opponents by a league leading 11 points per game.

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

Could the Philadelphia Eagles be America's Team? Vick, 108.7 rating, arrives in Chicago to face the CHICAGO BEARS, 4-10 ATS versus teams with winning records over the last three seasons, who up until last year's 24-20 SU and ATS loss, had been 2-0 SU and ATS in their previous two matchups. With Cutler and Forte powering a Bears offense to only 19.1 points per game, there seems little evidence that they can improve on last year's 284 yard effort. Remember, even with three turnovers a year ago, the Eagles still managed a victory; the Eagles, 6-2 ATS as a Road Favorite of 3 points or less over the last three seasons, the one to watch today with a +15 turnover ratio.
ADVANTAGE PHILADELPHIA

FIRST LOOK

There are few teams, the OAKLAND RAIDERS have owned in recent year outside of the Miami Dolphins. With the Fish powering one of the league's worst offenses with only 17.2 points per game, the Raiders, 2-0 ATS and 1-1 SU over the last three years, only need to power a couple of scores to walk away with a victory today; the Dolphins only managing 17 points per game in their previous two matchups.
ADVANTAGE OAKLAND
