Week 6 Key NFL Trends

AT FIRST GLANCE there are games that always look Tasty ATS in many publications as a Bullet trend only to trap upon further review. Since 2006, The Director has cleared the way for you to understand which team has the real ADVANTAGE against the Trend.

As the NEW YORK JETS arrive home, the question is whether they will sink or take flight. Outscored by an average of 1 point per game over their last 4 games, the Jets defense will look to try to stop a Buffalo Bills offense that is powering only 13 points per game in their last 4, the third lowest in the the NFL; Edwards, 71.4 rating, the leading rusher at 9.3 yards per rush. Having had history turn the page on them in Miami on Monday Night, they will look to do the same against a Bills team, who have gone 3-1 ATS in their last 4 matchups, and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in New York. With Lynch putting up his biggest game of the year with 127 rushing yards in Week 15 of last year, look for the Jets defense to press the issue this year knowing that the Bills have already allowed 18 sacks.

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

FIRST LOOK

Stumbling in Detroit, will the PITTSBURGH STEELERS clean house this week? For when you run down your trends sheet, you will see that Jack Lambert's Steelers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Home matchups with the Cleveland Browns, and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Home Games. Arriving managing only 5 points per game in their last 4 games, Mangini's Browns face a Steelers team that has outscored them by 20 and 31 points in two of the last three years here. What is more impressive is that Tomlin is 4-1 ATS AS 10+ point Favorites over the last two years. Interesting that the last time the Steelers were 14+ Favorites was against the Dolphins in 2006 which produced an odd 3-0 victory. With its rush defense allowing only 67 rushing yards per game in their last 4 games, Anderson, 39 rating, will be forced to the air.
