Week 13 Preview: Today's focus is on [1] Offense: With the playoffs out of reach, will Nicks, 14.8 yards per catch, be a weapon for Manning, 71.8 rating. If so, can the offense keep up its 22 points per game they have averaged in their last five games [2] Defense: On the back of sacrificing the game losing drive to Romo, will Rolle and the defense, that is only allowing 5.1 yards per play, slow a Redskins offense that is powering only 199 rushing yards per game in its last five games.Sports Reporter has had the Giants number this season. Having been shocked like all of us in Week 12, the Sports Reporter is back with WASHINGTON over NEW YORK GIANTS by 1. The Giants have one of the worst red-zone offenses anyone has ever been forced to watch. But the Redskins have the NFL’s worst red-zone defense. Opponents have scored TDs on 67.6% of their trips inside the Washington 20-yard-line. (For purposes of understanding and perspective, the Baltimore Ravens have the NFL’s best red-zone defense, 31% touchdowns allowed.) The Giants offense should just stop at the 21-yard-line and have Eli Manning throw four passes into the end zone, because the Redskins’ 8.5 YPA on defense is the NFL’s worst. In last season’s 17-16 Washington win on this field, the Giants accomplished a stated goal of winning possession time (33:13 to 26:47), but Manning was confused by Jim Haslett clown-show blitzes. WASHINGTON, 23-22.
