2014 Week 11 - Packers @ GIANTS

Week 11 Preview: Today's focus is on [1] Offense: With Manning's rating dropping to 68.5, can Brown repeat his spirited 30 carry 115 yard performance to drive the offense [2] Defense: Can Rolle and the defense slow a Packers offense that has averaged 394 yards per game.

Sports Reporter has had the Giants number this season. This week they are their BEST BET* NEW YORK GIANTS over GREEN BAY by 17 This is sick, yes. But apparently, the Giants have ordered script revisions grant-ed by the NFL, whereby, with all hope lost at 0-6, visiting Minnesota decides to start Josh Freeman at quarterback against them and lose, they get to play in Philadelphia where the Eagles never win, the visiting Raiders are mandated to get hosed by the officials and lose, and the visiting Packers are forced to start Seneca Wallace at quarterback against them. Wait a minute. Not even Seneca Wallace? It’s Scott Tolzein, the third-string quarterback in his first NFL regular season start? Oh, my, the 3-6 SU Giants have reason to live! The Packers losing a home game by 14 points (vs. the Eagles) is unheard of, and that happened after a tremendous line move of -9 to +1.5. Without key players on offense and defense, playing without QB Aaron Rodgers is the straw breaking the camel’s back. Scoreboard leads that help the Green Bay defense immensely, or score-trading, goes out the window and deficits become the reality. Defensive coor-dinator Dom Capers gets awakened from nappy time in the booth and asked to perform miracles. The offensive braintrust, which has been going to work with a plan to have Rodgers make all the throws into good coverage in the first half, adjusting in the second half by having Rodgers make all the throws into good coverage, is overmatched. Eli Manning has enjoyed some fine days against the Packers’ defense. The Giants have three wide receivers capable of out-fighting the Packers’ press coverage for balls. Throughout the sloppy season, New York head coach Tom Coughlin has praised the defense’s play. NY GIANTS, 30-13.
